Periodical marketing for the network marketers is an easy way to generate leads consistently.  While online classifieds take advantage of the large online market, offline, hold in your hands, periodicals still are a viable resource for generating leads.

You will needs a  couple things before you run off to place ads however…

The first thing you need is a landing page. A landing page is a page that gives basic information about your offer, gives some information that is useful away for free and then allows the person to enter their email information in exchange for more detailed information.

This is a great example of a powerful landing page:

Todd Gross’s video explains what you can expect for your email address and name.

Once you have people on your list you can email them with more information that is helpful and occasionally recommend products or services that they might find helpful.

This landing page is also the landing page that is generated by the power lead system. I simply purchased a domain name, in this case, allthisforseverdollars.com and had it redirected and masked to the capture page that was professionally created to convert. I invite you to enter your email address and name and take advantage of the offer – you can always quit at any time, however going through the whole funnel allows you to see all of the moving pieces.

Now that you have an offer/landing page with a name that is easy to remember you can start to craft your ad.

Your advertisement should follow the classical AIDA selling format: Attention, Interest, Desire, Action.

Attention is attracted with a good, intriguing headline. Your headline is 90% of what you are paying for when you advertise. Most people will only read that.

Here are some examples of how to write a compelling headline:

1. Warning: [blank].

~ Example:

  • Warning: Two Out of Every Three People in Your Industry Will be Out of Work in 5 Years—Will You Be One of Them?

2. How [blank] Made Me [blank].

  • How a “Fool Stunt” Made Me a Star Salesman
  • How an Obvious Idea Made Me $3.5 Million
  • How Moving to Iowa Improved My Sex Life

  • Are You Ready to Learn Chinese for Your Next Job?
  • Are You a Courageous Blogger?

4. [Blank] Ways to [blank].

  • 21 Ways to Live a Better Life With Less
  • 5 Ways to Write Killer Headlines

5. If You’re [blank], You Can [blank]

The next step is to capitalize on the headline by giving directions, a call to action in the next part of the ad. Something like for tea. Your lead capture page should have a picture or video about the tea.

I Could Not Believe What These People Were drinking In This Picture.

Then I Took A Second Look And…OMG

Look around in your local area for places to advertise. I love the PennySaver. Most local communities have newspapers or circulars that they send out regularly. You could also look at using place mat advertising in diners. You could even put something like this in vinyl lettering on your car.

The goal of any sort of advertising is to get the people to take action. Don’t you want to go look at what “they” are drinking?

An easy way to find your local periodicals would be to go on over to Google.com and google your city+newspaper. If you live in a small community, then put in the larger city near where you are.

While researching periodicals for you, I can across this amazing guerrilla marketing site: You’ve simply got to check this out. Lots of “out of the box” thinking going on here…122 Must See Guerrilla Marketing Examples
